Marketing

Marketing at General Mills means general management.

You are responsible for the ultimate health and growth of the business.

You manage daily business operations and identify opportunities to grow our businesses by leading teams in pursuit of optimal results.

We’ll help you customize the career path that best suits your goals, crafting a path that balances breadth with depth.

This group has a flat organizational structure, which means there are few levels between associate marketing manager and president, offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact not only on your business, but on your career through exposure to all levels within the organization.

Our main avenues are listed below.

Established brands
This provides you with the experience in managing a profit and loss statement, developing a strategic plan, developing a marketing plan, and creating advertising and promotions.

New products and initiatives
You’ll come up with the next big idea or bring an already established idea to market, challenging your innovation and leadership in the process.

Customer/channel relations
Working a customer-focused assignment provides increased exposure to sales and an understanding for how General Mills partners with its key customers. You can work in the U.S. Retail division on strategic growth channels or work in Bakeries & Foodservice, marketing to other foodservice providers.

Education
Competitive candidates should have an MBA in marketing.
