The company was named to the hall of fame for appearing on the magazine’s work-friendly list for 15 consecutive years. And in 2010, General Mills was again ranked among Working Mother’s top 10 companies.

“We take great pride in consistently ranking as one of Working Mother’s 100 Best Companies,” says Ken Charles, vice president of Diversity and Inclusion for General Mills.

“It’s not just about providing great benefits and resources to help employees balance the demands of working and parenthood. It’s equally important to offer talented employees rewarding and engaging careers and the opportunity to make an impact on our business around the world.”

Working Mother applauded General Mills for its strong commitment to advancing women. It ranked General Mills first out of 100 companies for its approach to workplace wellness, which includes comprehensive health education and wellness programs, resources and preventive care.

The company made the magazine’s top 10 list in 2009 and 2007. Working Mother does not assign a specific numerical ranking to the companies on its lists.

General Mills was selected based on an extensive application with more than 600 questions on work force, compensation, child care, flexibility programs, leave policies and more.

The survey also measures the use and availability of programs, as well as the accountability of managers who oversee them.

General Mills joins 30 other companies in the magazine’s hall of fame.
