Richard L. Best was named vice president of Global Business Solutions in March 2007 and was later promoted to senior vice president of that business unit in March of 2011.

Best joined General Mills as a staff accountant in 1975. He held numerous financial assignments before being promoted to director of Financial Operations for the Marketing Services division in 1982.

During his career at General Mills, he also has directed financial operations for several other food, restaurant and corporate divisions and departments.

He was named vice president, Corporate Planning & Analysis in 1995, and vice president, Financial Operations for Consumer Foods Sales in June 1996, the position he held before his Global Business Solutions assignment.
