Peter J. Capell

Senior Vice President, Wholesome Snacks

Peter Capell became senior vice president of Wholesome Snacks on Sept. 1, 2009.

He was previously senior vice president of International Marketing & Sales, and before that he served as president of the Big G cereal division.

He assumed that role in April 2004. 

As president of Big G, he was responsible for the marketing of all General Mills cereals.

Capell joined General Mills in 1985 and held various marketing positions in the Betty Crocker and Big G divisions before being named manager of Recruiting in 1988.

In 1989, he returned to the Betty Crocker division and managed several successful new dessert launches before becoming president of the Snacks division in 1997, where he managed the team that led the financial turnaround of that business.

Capell was elected senior vice president of General Mills in May 2000.
